Fostering allowance | Foster Together

Fostering allowance

We offer generous foster care pay and allowances at the Together Trust, as well as specialist support and guidance along every step of your fostering journey.

We are proud to be a not-for-profit fostering agency, and every penny we make is invested back into the charity and the valuable services we run.

Your pay will vary depending on how many young people you foster and their needs. You’ll get additional allowances for things like transport, Christmas and birthdays.

The other benefits of fostering with us include:

  • A free annual fostering holiday for carers and young people
  • 24/7 access to a Together Trust social worker – you’ll never be put through to a call centre
  • Access to our clinical or educational psychologists
  • Excellent training delivered by our specialist staff
  • Regular support groups to meet other carers
  • Dedicated support workers for young people
  • Access to respite care

What kind of support is available for Together Trust foster carers?

We provide a very high level of support for our foster carers and our fostered children from a friendly team. Whatever the day or time there is support available to you. What’s more we provide extensive training for our carers and even a fostering holiday once a year! The support we offer is one of our real strengths.

Take your next step to become a foster carer

You don’t need much to become a foster carer, just a spare bedroom and a passion for helping young people succeed in life.

“My foster parents were the only people in the world that inspired me, and made me feel like I could go out and achieve anything I wanted. When they found out I wanted to find the passion for piano, they pushed it so much and they gave me a feeling of accomplishment every time I’d learned something new, or if I set myself a new challenge.”
Brad Kella, winner of The Piano 2024

According to the NSPCC, there were approximately 107,000 looked after children in the UK in 2022/23. In the last five years the population of looked after children in the UK has increased by 8%, from 99,428 to 107,057.

In other words, the number of looked after children is growing faster than that of the UK child population.

7000 new fostering households are required to provide that care.

It doesn’t matter where you are on your fostering journey, we’re here to help. Please fill in your details below and we'll get back to you as soon as possible. All enquiries will be treated in confidence.
